A couple Holding hands on the each living the Olairo lifestyle

Our Story

For us, the beach has always been a place of peace. It has a way of pulling you in...time loosens its grip the moment your feet touch the sand. It's the kind of place that asks nothing of you.

We live on the coast of North Carolina. It was never really a question. It's where we gather with our kids and our grandson, where dinner with friends has a way of turning into a celebration, where the simple things still feel like luxuries: a long walk, a slow conversation, a sunset showing off across the sound. Every time we cross the bridge, we can't help but smile. We're home.

Olairo started with a simple idea: that the things we bring to the beach should belong there. Subtle. Honest. In harmony with what drew us here in the first place. Our products are built to last, but we'd like to think they're beautiful too: a palette borrowed from nature, thoughtful details tucked out of sight. Every piece is a small love letter to this place.

Wishing you peace and harmony at the beach.

 Addie & Steve

Meet The Team

Steve Butts

Co-Founder & Part-Time Strategist

The steady hand that lets the rest of us dream big. Steve handles the strategy and financial direction, keeping the business behind the brand on solid ground. When he's not at the helm of Olairo or his day job, he's wandering the beach — his favorite place to be.

•  Essential Piece: The Sirocco. It’s what got the whole thing started.
•  Favorite Beach:  Sugar Beach. Where we said "I do."
•  How I Joined: This was my idea.

Addie Butts

Co-Founder & Ringleader

The heart behind our soft, sun-bleached palette, and a firm believer that nature is the best designer. Day to day, she leads product development and operations, bringing that same eye for quiet, natural beauty to everything Olairo makes. If Addie's not cozy at home, traveling anywhere is her second favorite place to be.

• Essential Piece: Organization is my jam. I’m team Soléa. Super in love with her.
• Favorite Beach: Home @ 268
• How I Joined: Married Steve and didn’t read the small print. :)

Lewis Gamble

Brand Creator, Plus Everything Else

The relentless energy that gets Olairo in front of the world. Lewis runs marketing, social media, business development, and has a hand in product development — basically every hat that isn't bolted to a spreadsheet. When he's not pushing the business forward, he's trying a new recipe or watching the football (yelling at a TV.)

•  Essential Piece: I'm a minimalist, so the clean design of the Calima appeals to me.

•  Favorite Beach: Scotland isn't known for its beaches, so mine has to be San Benedetto del Tronto, where I vacationed with my family growing up.

•  How I Joined: Married into this.

Korinne Seel

Chief of Style

Best friend first, business partner second. Korinne shapes the look and feel of every Olairo piece, from fabric and hardware to color palettes and finishing details. She has an effortless eye for design — if something about a product makes you stop and stare, she's the reason. If Korinne’s not making things pretty at Olairo, it’s all about family for this former Miss Malibu.

•  Essential Piece: The Soléa Tote. Vacation mode in bag form!
•  Favorite Beach: Bodrum, Turkey...one of those trips with your best friends that you wish you could bottle up forever!
• How I Joined: Neighbor to best friend to business partner. Here for it all!

Abhay Srivastava

All Things Finance & Supply Chain

Once Steve's intern (long, long ago), now the person we'd be lost without. Abhay runs finance, supply chain, sourcing, and packaging — the unglamorous work that makes everything else possible — and he does it with the calm and competence that only come with real experience. Abhay can often be seen during and after work calls, shuttling his son around.

•  Essential Piece: I need me a comfortable beach chair so it will be Aria. Simple, easy and comfortable.
•  Favorite Beach:  In the US, it will be Sand Key near Clearwater, FL. White Sand, small crowd. All time fave - Kovalam Beach in India.
• How I Joined: Always wanted to come back to work for Steve. The fact that we are building a really cool company with a real heart, was just cherry on top.

Beyond the team, there's the family that makes it all work

The ones who don't have a title but show up anyway. Korinne's hubby Will is our go-to search engine guy. Maddie engineered the anchor joint when we were in a pinch, and Emily has been found behind the camera, making awesome videos. Emmie and Max (along with Max's buddy Kyle) have added "unloading tractor trailers … in the rain" to their résumés. Eric and Phillip are graciously pool-testing what might become our future patio umbrellas, while KB is our honorary Sirocco guy on Oak Island, flying the flagship wherever he plants it. And there's Hannah, down in Texas, raising our only grandchild … which arguably makes her the most important of all. All family. All invested.
